I’ve given up the wonder that is Bath and Body Works and their scents, sales and chemicals. Therefore I need to replace my candles and soaps that I used to buy every season. I used up the last of my foaming hand soaps from them last Summer and made sure to save the containers, but I’m sure you can find somewhere else to buy empty ones. I did a quick Google search and found this, this and this. If you search for recipes on Pinterest there’s tons and they’re all pretty simple, I just mixed a couple together to get this recipe. You can totally alter it to your preferences. One thing to be aware of, most recipes I saw said to use fractionated coconut oil instead extra virgin coconut oil. I used extra virgin because I have a huge tub of it at home.
What You Need:
Foaming Soap Dispenser – as many as you want to make
2 TBSP Unscented Castile Soap
1 TSP Coconut Oil, melted
10 Drops Essential Oils of your choice
Gather your supplies and melt your coconut oil in a microwave.
Pour your coconut oil and soap into your container.
Add your essential oils. I used lavender but you can pick whatever you like best or even mix a few to make a blend. Some good antibacterial ones are lemon, rosemary, lavender and peppermint.
Then add water to fill up the rest of the container. I used filtered.
Put the top back on the container and gently shake to mix. Then you’re done! So simple, and I’m really bad at math but I bet if we calculated it out it would also end up being super cheap which is always wonderful. Plus, no chemicals or anything you can’t pronounce.
